BREEDING PROGRAMME
Our Objectives
Kane farms goal is to offer genetics that will give our clients more live, marketable calves and more cows remaining in herd for longer. This is achieved by a strict breeding criteria of high calving ease, low birth weight and having great growth, carcass quality. Combined with quiet temperament, well marked especially the Herefords also they must be very fertile bulls.

Our genetics are evaluated within our family’s 700 cow dairy farm with a combination of semen and follow up bulls. Hereford and Angus bulls are used over Yearling heifer following AB, 40% of mixed aged cows are mated with Hereford semen for the duration of AB and Hereford and Angus bull following AB, this have given us some real life commercial information to give you confidence in our breeding program and allows to make faster genetic gain, every year over 250 dairy beef calves are reared and followed right through to slaughter.
